Absent Findings makes its runway debut at Dubai Fashion Week with "Not What You Think" – a homegrown Dubai label refining its visual language through memory, surrealism, and the psychology of dress.
Creative Director Shivin Singh builds on past seasons without repeating them, stretching familiar codes – architecture, the sari, ritual, and emotional dressing – into something dreamlike and quietly disorienting. References collide from Dalí’s Head of Roses to David Lynch’s uncanny stillness, Sumerian sculpture, and Bauhaus theatricality, shaping silhouettes that feel precise yet fluid, romantic yet unsettled. A palette drawn from Francis Bacon adds a bruised, visceral emotional charge.
